IPOS listed on Approved index for an EPOS System quote

To help retailers get a quotation for a new POS system IPOS are now listed on Approved Index.

IPOS may provide complete touch screen till systems with a lease finance rental agreement which is a tax efficient way of investing in a new EPOS Solution to help manage your business.

A reliable and sophisticated POS (Point of Sale) system or EPOS (Electronic Point of Sale) system is essential for any sort of retail business and has many advantages over the conventional cash register. The moment a buyer reaches the cash register is the most critical point of the sale, and you don’t want anything to hinder the transaction or frustrate the customer. And obviously you want a POS system that will correctly calculate the till’s ingoings and outgoings, so your books balance at the end of the day.

A complete POS system consists of both hardware and software – the cash register and credit card processing system, and the electronic software that controls it. POS software allows you to monitor the day’s sales and collect the data on a computer for analysis. This ability to analyse and produce reports on your cash flow is the real selling point of a POS system, which is why they are generally an investment for large, high revenue businesses. Other benefits include:

· Correct pricing of items. All of your stock is inventoried in the POS system, so employees do not need to enter the price manually.

· Less chance of employee misuse, since all activity is monitored.

· Reduced paperwork, since all data is recorded electronically by the POS software.

IPOS will be able to install the POS terminal, computer hardware and the accompanying software. Even if you already have a compatible PC, you may want to buy a new system since this makes it easier for us when it comes to maintenance. IPOS will also offer a quick training course so your employees can start using their new POS system as soon as possible.

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home install new EPOS system

The renowned Battersea Dogs & Cats Home was established in 1860 and over the last 150 years has seen a lot of changes in its organisation.

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is currently made up of three centres - the central London site at Battersea, at Old Windsor in Berkshire and at Brands Hatch in Kent.

All three operate in the same way - taking in and caring for lost and abandoned animals and re homing dogs and cats, as well as providing veterinary and behaviour care. They also have retail shops on each site offering a wide variety of pet care products.

Like many retailers Battersea were in a dilemma who having already invested in an EPOS system for there three retail sites, the existing EPOS software supplier had gone out of business. They also felt trapped with outdated, proprietary point-of-sale (POS) systems that bind them to yesterday’s technology.

International POS Ltd (IPOS) came up with an innovative, cost effective solution by upgrading the existing POS terminals with IPOS TM 150 Touch screens to provide the benefits of the very latest touch screen technology.

IPOS also recommended using the latest Tysso 7000 All-in-one touch screen POS terminals to provide a mobile EPOS system when Battersea visit exhibitions and events.

Tysso 7000 POS TERMINAL

The first stage of the project needed to be completed quickly as Battersea Dogs Home were attending the Crufts Dog Show at the NEC at the beginning of March 2009.
The Tysso 7000 pos terminals were configured with Poswsye software to operate stand alone and capture the sales data when being used at Crufts. When the pos terminals returned to Battersea the sales data was retrieved for analysis.
The next stage was to install the Poswyse Software Head office system at Battersea headquarters and upgrade the POS systems at the Battersea retail shop. This was accomplished by having two teams installing the Poswyse head office software and retail shop pos terminals simultaneously which meant the implementation was completed in the same day including training with the minimum of disruption.
The Old Windsor and Brands Hatch sites POS systems were also upgraded with touch screens and using Poswyse software were connected to provide stock control across all three sites.

New Convenience Store EPOS Installation

IPOS has added a new site in Scotland to the growing number of IPOS RS Software installations to the convenience store market.

Johnshaven Stores is a very successful convenience store business based near Montrose that provides a valuable service to the local community for a wide variety of services including grocery, post office, newsround and a DVD rental service.

Initially Johnshaven Stores visited the CTN retailing exhibition to evaluate companies who supplied EPOS systems to the convenience store market. IPOS along with other companies were asked to respond to a detailed list of features which identified the specific requirements of the business. The list was compiled by Ewan Mackenzie the owner of the business who had previously purchased an EPOS software product which did not live up to his expectations.

IPOS RS Softwareticked all the boxes to provide an off the shelf solution for not only EPOS and stock control but also included hand held wireless stock ordering, Newsround Management and DVD rental control.

The store needed compact pos terminals because of limited counter space and one of the terminals needed to also double as the back office computer.

This was achieved by utilising the IPOS Pole mounted Preh MCE 15 touch screen system with POS PC as the master terminal. The pole mount also included the Preh MCI84 programmable keyboard which is used for customer data entry.

The Tysso 5715intergrated POS terminal was also configured with a secondary customer screen to show customer promotions as well as details of the sale.

Using the wireless Picco Link hand scanner and IPOS RS Software provided the freedom to move around the store; making ordering, stock takes and price changes quick and easy to manage saving time and money.

The installation was completed successfully in February and Ewan has taken advantage of the IPOS online support web site which hosts a comprehensive knowledge base as well as providing remote desk top support.

IPOS RS software now includes a new customer loyalty module, which Johnsahaven Stores is also keen to try out. This will provide Johnshaven stores the opportunity to reward loyal customers by accruing points and keep track of customer purchases. This will help with customer retention, which is now even more important in the present economic climate.

IPOS RS integrates with Commidea’s Ocius system to provide a solution, which is approved by all major UK bank acquirers. Johnshaven Stores have now requested to upgrade and have Chip&Pin integrated into their system.

The main factor with speed when processing card transactions is that with the former system the total sale amount needed to re entered in to the PDQ.With the Ocius chip&pin solution integrated in to IPOS RS Software the amount is automatically sent to the chip&pin terminal. This also means less errors and that reconciliation process is also much easier.

This will also provide Johnshaven Stores with even greater efficiency at the point of sale.
