IPOS RS Software developed for Multi-site Pharmacy application

Many Pharmacy wholesalers are looking for Retail EPOS solutions for their wholly owned stores and also for their customers to use. The concept of receiving orders electronically from the independent retailers among their customer base is also very attractive. IPOS RS Software is already established as a solution in the Convenience store market.

International POS Ltd (IPOS) has now project managed the development of IPOS RS Software to provide this solution for the Pharmacy market.

An FTP site is created for the wholesaler so the head office and stores may communicate with each other via the Internet.

Orders can be generated for the retail store and seamlessly sent electronically to the wholesaler head office.

The other major benefits of the solution include being able to produce automatic orders from the store on products by case or single item.

Print shelf edge labels automatically when price changes are sent to store.

Product and price change report generated at head office when new products are created when added at the store.

Accounts for nursing homes, doctors etc may be set up.

Patients name can be attached to the transaction and loyalty points awarded for each customer.

The modern community pharmacy retailer not only provides a prescription service and over the counter sales of medicines but also provides a range of additional services to help its customers.

The IPOS Solution also uses the latest Zenis touch screen technology which has a 2nd customer screen to advertise services such as free prescription delivery, MUR and smoking cessation services as well as product promotions at the POS terminal.

The customer facing screen is very effective in the Pharmacy store as customers may be waiting for a few minutes while a prescription is prepared so information and adverts easily capture their attention.

The wholesaler may also take advantage of the screen adverts being sponsored by suppliers.

IPOS RS pharmacy solutions have been designed to ensure that they deliver a competitive edge in very challenging market conditions.

Contactless Payment Systems

Contactless payments are on the rise in the convenience payment sector and companies like Commidea who supply companies like Eat and Pret A Manager are at the forefront of this technology. The announcement that Orange will partner with Barclaycard to further extend the concept to the mobile phone will make a major impact on how customers pay for small value transactions.

International POS Ltd(IPOS)have supplied the Commidea Ocius chip&pin solution for a number of years to the retail and hospitality industry and the benefits are well known when they invest in the necessary technology.

See hospitality example: http://www.iposltd.com/blog/?p=40

IPOS believes further analysys is necessary before retailers can justify extending the normal chip&pin solution to contactless for the transactions below £15.00. It is clear however that as its popularity increases the pressure for retailers to make the additional investment will also grow.

IPOS listed on Approved index for an EPOS System quote

To help retailers get a quotation for a new POS system IPOS are now listed on Approved Index.

IPOS may provide complete touch screen till systems with a lease finance rental agreement which is a tax efficient way of investing in a new EPOS Solution to help manage your business.

A reliable and sophisticated POS (Point of Sale) system or EPOS (Electronic Point of Sale) system is essential for any sort of retail business and has many advantages over the conventional cash register. The moment a buyer reaches the cash register is the most critical point of the sale, and you don’t want anything to hinder the transaction or frustrate the customer. And obviously you want a POS system that will correctly calculate the till’s ingoings and outgoings, so your books balance at the end of the day.

A complete POS system consists of both hardware and software – the cash register and credit card processing system, and the electronic software that controls it. POS software allows you to monitor the day’s sales and collect the data on a computer for analysis. This ability to analyse and produce reports on your cash flow is the real selling point of a POS system, which is why they are generally an investment for large, high revenue businesses. Other benefits include:

· Correct pricing of items. All of your stock is inventoried in the POS system, so employees do not need to enter the price manually.

· Less chance of employee misuse, since all activity is monitored.

· Reduced paperwork, since all data is recorded electronically by the POS software.

IPOS will be able to install the POS terminal, computer hardware and the accompanying software. Even if you already have a compatible PC, you may want to buy a new system since this makes it easier for us when it comes to maintenance. IPOS will also offer a quick training course so your employees can start using their new POS system as soon as possible.

New Convenience Store EPOS Installation

IPOS has added a new site in Scotland to the growing number of IPOS RS Software installations to the convenience store market.

Johnshaven Stores is a very successful convenience store business based near Montrose that provides a valuable service to the local community for a wide variety of services including grocery, post office, newsround and a DVD rental service.

Initially Johnshaven Stores visited the CTN retailing exhibition to evaluate companies who supplied EPOS systems to the convenience store market. IPOS along with other companies were asked to respond to a detailed list of features which identified the specific requirements of the business. The list was compiled by Ewan Mackenzie the owner of the business who had previously purchased an EPOS software product which did not live up to his expectations.

IPOS RS Softwareticked all the boxes to provide an off the shelf solution for not only EPOS and stock control but also included hand held wireless stock ordering, Newsround Management and DVD rental control.

The store needed compact pos terminals because of limited counter space and one of the terminals needed to also double as the back office computer.

This was achieved by utilising the IPOS Pole mounted Preh MCE 15 touch screen system with POS PC as the master terminal. The pole mount also included the Preh MCI84 programmable keyboard which is used for customer data entry.

The Tysso 5715intergrated POS terminal was also configured with a secondary customer screen to show customer promotions as well as details of the sale.

Using the wireless Picco Link hand scanner and IPOS RS Software provided the freedom to move around the store; making ordering, stock takes and price changes quick and easy to manage saving time and money.

The installation was completed successfully in February and Ewan has taken advantage of the IPOS online support web site which hosts a comprehensive knowledge base as well as providing remote desk top support.

IPOS RS software now includes a new customer loyalty module, which Johnsahaven Stores is also keen to try out. This will provide Johnshaven stores the opportunity to reward loyal customers by accruing points and keep track of customer purchases. This will help with customer retention, which is now even more important in the present economic climate.

IPOS RS integrates with Commidea’s Ocius system to provide a solution, which is approved by all major UK bank acquirers. Johnshaven Stores have now requested to upgrade and have Chip&Pin integrated into their system.

The main factor with speed when processing card transactions is that with the former system the total sale amount needed to re entered in to the PDQ.With the Ocius chip&pin solution integrated in to IPOS RS Software the amount is automatically sent to the chip&pin terminal. This also means less errors and that reconciliation process is also much easier.

This will also provide Johnshaven Stores with even greater efficiency at the point of sale.
