How do I set up the Keyboard Wedge 2-track reader for use with SoftEFT

• On the underside of the unit are two sets of 8 switches. For use with SoftEFT all the switches (1 to 8) on Switch bank 2 (SW2) should all be set to OFF. Switches 1 to 5 on Switch bank 1 (SW1) should be set to OFF and switches 6,7,8 should be set to ON.
• Once set the unit should be connected to the Keyboard input of the PC and the PC keyboard plugged into the magnetic swipe.

How do I set up the reader to just give me the card number

• On the underside of the unit are two sets of 8 switches. In order to get the reader to just send the card number (track 2 - account number only) switch 8 on Switch bank 2 (SW2) should be set to ON.
• If you also want the card reader to output a carriage return (enter key) then set switch 7 on SW1 to ON and in addition for serial wedge readers set switch 6 ON on SW2 for just carriage return, OFF for both carriage return and line feed..

My serial reader does not seem to be reading, help

• Ensure serial wedge setting is set to ON. Switch 7, SW2 - ON.
• On the underside of the unit are two sets of 8 switches. Try setting all the switches (1 to 8) on Switch bank 1 (SW1) to OFF except switch 6 that should be set ON. Switches 3,5,6,8 on Switch bank 2(SW2) should be set to OFF and switches 1,2,4,7 should be set to ON.
• Set your communications parameters to 9600 baud, no parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit
