International POS Ltd. (IPOS) and PREH Key-Tec deliver major product roll-outs for WH Smith and Phones 4U

When WH Smith Travel division were looking to improve the robustness and reliability of their 265 POS systems across their locations situated at busy airports and train stations, they looked to a Preh Key-Tec keyboard as part of their integrated solution provided by Preh UK distributor, International POS Ltd.

 

In this demanding environment there was a definite need for flexibility in the keyboard. Key layouts and functions often change as products are added and deleted and the Preh Key Tec MCI 96 met this and other needs. The configurable key positions can be populated with size, style, colour and orientation of keys required to meet WH Smith’s current and future needs.

 

The Key positions can be programmed using the Preh programming software. Also, all the keyboards in the system can be programmed or modified at one time from a remote location.

PREH Key-Tec set for UK expansion after appointing dedicated UK sales personnel and new UK distributor: International POS Ltd. (IPOS)

PREH Key-Tec are set to make a major push into the UK and Ireland IT Point of Service markets with the announcement today of some key appointments:

Chris Woodall has been appointed Sales Manager, UK and Ireland for Preh Key-Tec. Chris’s remit is to account manager Preh’s key accounts and develop market share across a number of sectors incl. Retail, hospitality and banking.

 

Before joining PREH, Chris has held a number of senior sales, product and general management positions for companies such J2 Retail Systems, Channel Connect (Alphameric Retail) and Axiohm Plc.

 

Chris commented “ I believe Preh represents a major untapped opportunity for expansion , with its commitment to production excellence and innovative product range. I am looking forward to working with Preh’s distribution and OEM partners to expands Preh’s presence in the UK and Ireland.”

JUNE 2005 -International POS Ltd (IPOS) were once again pleased to exhibit at the Retail Solutions Show at the NEC, Birmingham. IPOS showed a new version of Poswyse retail software with the customer loyalty module. The loyalty module provides a vital tool to manage customers and encourage repeat business. By identifying purchase patterns and rewarding loyal customers with points, discounts or individual price lists.

 

Poswyse was shown operating with the new Preh MCI series keyboards and touch screens together with the HP rp5000 POS terminal.

@nker F&B hospitality software including wireless waiter terminals was also launched at the show.

 

IPOS were very pleased with the level of interest in the new products and as well as taking orders at the show for complete EPOS solutions had a good level of  interest from the Tourism and Leisure market for online booking of products and events.

International POS were once again exhibiting at Retail Solutions 2004 showing the latest in POS systems and peripherals including the new Preh MCI keyboards, touchscreens, new Tysso low cost range of peripherals and the first generically approved chip and pin solutions for easy integration to POS systems..

 

 

 

15th ANNUAL LANCASTER BEER FESTIVAL

 

Thursday 4th March - Saturday 6th March 2004
 
International POS and Commidea were proud to support the 15th Annual Lancaster Round Table Beer Festival. The festival goes from strength to strength and had raised over 100,000 pounds for charity over its 14 year history.


50 real ales were available together with bottled beers, food and live music. The 5000 or so pints supped helped raise more than 18,000 pounds for charity this year - well done all the IPOS guests !.
 
What were they thinking !


Thanks to all those that made it to the Lancaster Beer Festival- If you didn't, don't forget there's always next year. This year there were 50 real ales and 24 bottled beers available. Over 15000 pounds were raised for charity.

 

 

 

POS IN PARADISE

 

International Pos Ltd were pleased to qualify for a sales target award trip to the luxury resort of Sun City in South Africa with XN Corporation.

Successful XN Business Partners were treated to 5 star luxury at the Palace of the Lost City as well as being provided with exciting news of the product launch of a new range of XN Touch Screen terminals which will be available first quarter 2004.

ZEN AND THE ART OF SUBNETTING


Not really much to do with Zen Buddhist practice and not much more to do with subnetting either. However, in an unforgettable trip, International POS have implemented credit card processing facilities at Zen Internet to streamline the purchase and billing cycle for their renowned Internet Services. Zen Internet were one of the first ISPs within the UK and have won many awards and accolades for the products and service they offer. (apologies to Robert M.Pirsig!)

Online London Theatre Bookings are now able to be made by credit and debit card utilising the ICP credit card service. As part of a consolidation of card services the system will soon be rolled out to additionally cover customer present transactions at the Theatre Box Offices as well.

 

 

 

WACKY XN TOUCHSCREEN TERMINAL


International POS are pleased to have added the latest in touchscreen technology to their product portfolio with the XN700 Touchscreen. XN Corporation is a global technology company and has over 33000 terminals installed in the Retail and Hospitality markets in the UK alone. The XN700 is taking the hospitality market by storm and has been chosen by the Spirit Group to aid in selling its 124.5 million pints a year.

 

The XN terminal will be installed in all outlets that are being developed or refurbished across the groups 1050 UK pub sites. The Spirit Group evolved from the buyout of Bass and Allied Domecq's pub estates by the Punch Group in 1999 and includes familiar names such as Two for One, Wacky Warehouse and Q's.

 

 

 

CHARITY DONATION BY DEBIT / CREDIT CARD



International POS have supplied card processing solutions to Poptel, the leading co-operative ISP, to aid them and their partners Christian Aid, Amnesty International, NCH and the Co-operative Bank, in developing the Donate! online fundraising system. Donate! was used for the Guardian newspapers Christmas appeal and to power the internet card donations for the televised Amnesty "We Know Where You Live. Live!" event.

TERMINALS AT EWM


Providing Pentium power and PC based Point Of Sale functionality, The Edinburgh Woollen Mill has chosen the Book PC and Preh MC128 keyboard to continue with its EPOS implementations in new stores. The new system also includes customer display and cash drawer. These devices are driven directly from the Riva Book PC thus saving on mains sockets, additional transformers and the usual spaghetti wiring of a PC system.

 

 

 

FASTER CREDIT CARD AUTHORISATION


Lakeland Limited are upgrading all their stores throughout the UK with ISDN communications to provide faster credit card authorisation procedures and transfer of store data.


International POS Limited has completed the implementation of Commidea's Soft EFT ISDN version software together with an X25 compatible ISDN terminal adapter in new Lakeland stores.

 

 

 

EFT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM


Following on from the supply of Soft EFT Electronic Funds Transfer software to The Edinburgh Woollen Mill estate of stores (300+ terminals) EWM are now selectively upgrading major stores to make use of the faster authorisation times that are available using ISDN.

 

 

 

RIVA MOVES INTO HIGH FASHION


International POS Limited has developed IPOS software to run with the RIVA 5480 EPOS terminal which has been chosen to replace Omron tills in Armani and DKNY designer fashion stores. The 5480 terminal was chosen because with its compact design and open connectivity it provides a discreet solution whilst helping free valuable counter space.


Riva has also created a specially designed version of the 5480 terminal for Harrod's Department store.

 

 

 

PROPHECY LINK IMPLEMENTED FOR IPOS SOFTWARE


A development linking the IPOS Front End Point-Of-Sale system to the Ingres based Prophecy accounting system has been completed.

 

The system has been successfully implemented at the Bodleian Library at the University of Oxford and permits the transfer of product and sales information between the two systems. The item level information provided by the IPOS system and extensive reporting and drill down capabilities of the Prophecy system enable queries on sales to go down to the individual product(s) sold within any sale transaction.

 

The Bodleian library system consists of IPC GRS POS units, Epson 930 printers and IPOS / Soft EFT software connected to the University network.
