News - 9 Sep 2003 - Biggest UK Credit Card Fraud

For the LATEST news on Credit and Debit Card Procesing please see the EFT-POS.COM website.

As detailed previously the Maestro brand name is replacing that of Switch in the UK. The new Maestro card range will stay the same as that detailed for Switch however Maestro now require all UK merchants to accept the Non-UK issued Maestro cards by default, therefore the Commidea software will require change. These changes will be made to all current Commidea software products (i.e. not DOS products).

New software versions and configuration files will be made available in due course.

Maestro requires all changes to be made by June 2004, so we aim to get the new CFGs released in ample time.

The only change that is required by you is the amendment of any reference you have to 'Switch' to read 'Maestro' including card vouchers / receipts / literature.

There will be differences in the operating rules for the Non-UK issued Maestro cards and we are told that each Acquiring Bank will contact each Merchant and agree new terms. We do know, however, that all Acquiring Banks will not accept the Non-UK issued Maestro cards for CNP or e-commerce sales unless SecureCode has been implemented.

Mastercard SecureCode
