ICP provides a mechanism to authorise and process credit

ICP Web / XML Interface is the web service of choice for customers who have their
own secure servers or secure applications that are capturing
and storing customer orders and card payment details. ICP
allows seamless integration into your ecommerce, order processing,
call centre, IVR or EPOS application. All communication
to the card processing servers is handled within your site
/ application without any 'other website' payment screen appearing,
thus ensuring a consistent look and feel to your application.
Once you have captured your customers card payment details
you transmit these to the ICP servers. These servers communicate
with your acquirer to obtain authorisation using the UKs fastest
authorisation method (X.25). When authorisation is received
the result is returned to you in real-time for you to advise
the customer of the success or failure of their payment. The
average processing time end-end is less than 6 seconds.
