The Panic ISDN TA allows access to the power of the ISDN for voice and data applications. Using AT compatible dialling and standard COM ports, the TA can be easily incorporated into existing communications software platforms.
The V.120 Rate Adaption, with its 120% asynchronous throughput capability, can be used in conjunction with the onboard X.25 PAD to exploit the Terminal Adapter's ability to run two independent but simultaneous connections in multifunction environments, such as the transferring of EPOS data at the same time as handling credit card traffic.
Synchronous operation is supported as a bit transparent 64K connection with a separate control port.
Using the optional analogue port, a standard MF telephone, fax or answering machine can utilise a B channel when available. Both 2 and 3 wire PSTN connections are supported.
Standard ISDN Supplementary Services supported include CLIP (Caller Line Identification Presentation) for security purposes.
Sub addressing to allow a data call to address a specific DTE port, and MSN (Multi Subscriber Numbering) allowing addressing of multInternational POS Limitede devices such as telephones and fax machines on the same S bus. In addition the TA supports ICP (Incoming Call Priority) which allows calls to be routed to a particular port.
Support is already incorporated for data over the D channel where it is available from the network provider - this is in addition to the normal D channel call control . This means that systems can be started using the X.25 PAD over the B channel and can be easily moved when required to the D channel.
